Refund Policy

If you have pre-registered, find yourself unable to attend our convention, and it is before January 6th please e-mail support@setsucon.com. Our staff will do our best to help you.

There will be no refunds for any other reason.

Disruptive Behavior

We know you want to have fun, but please be considerate of others! Our convention is meant to enjoyed by all, and we’d like to make sure we’re providing an atmosphere were everyone can enjoy themselves. Also, please remember our convention shares space with a hotel and that their guests do not want to be bothered. We ask you to be polite and to keep disruptive behavior to a minimum. Disruptive behavior can include blocking the halls, having mock duels, and being excessively loud as well as fighting, arguing, and damaging hotel property.

If you have to ask yourself if what you are doing is disruptive behavior, it probably is. These include intoxication, possession of illegal substances, vandalism, fighting, stealing, etc.

Theft Policy

A friendly reminder, Setsucon and Day’s Inn are not responsible for lost or stolen items. If someone is in fact caught stealing, they will immediately be turned over to the proper authorities.

If you do lose an item, please check Lost & Found, located in Convention Operations and be prepared to describe the lost item in detail. If the item has been found, it will be returned to you.

If you find an item that does not belong to you, please turn it into Convention Operations.

Camera Policy

Feel free to take as many pictures as you’d like! But in the interest of other attendees, please only take them in the hall or in such events where they would not be a distraction, such as in the video rooms or during panels. Also, please be considerate of other attendees and try not to block the hallways for your pictures!

Photography in Artist’s Alley is at the discretion of the individual artist.

Children at Setsucon

We welcome attendees of all ages, but we would like to emphasize that Setsucon is not a baby-sitting service. As such, a parent or guardian should accompany children under the age of 12. Also, it is recommended that all children carry some form of identification and/or contact information so if the child becomes lost we can contact the parent/guardian if it becomes necessary.

The J-dance

Dance your heart out, but to insure everyone’s safety, please do not bring props into the dance! A small bag will be allowed, but everything else will need to be left at the door or in your private quarters.

Sign Policy

If a sign is part of your costume, it is more than welcome! However, we ask you to please keep the content on your sign to an acceptable level. Signs that are not part of a costume are not allowed especially those that could be considered ‘solicitation’, such as ones that ask for kisses, hugs, glomps, etc, and will be confiscated.

Staff

Our hardworking staff is here to insure that you are having a good time! Because of that, we kindly ask that you treat them with respect and if they ask you to do something, to please do it.

Also if you have any problems please visit either the Information Desk or the Convention Operations office. The staff there will be more than willing to help you!

Weapons Policy

No live steel or edged weapons are permitted at Setsucon. Guns also are prohibited at Setsucon, unless they have a valid orange tip denoting a toy, and have no moving parts. All weapon props should be made of soft wood, plastic, plexiglass, paper-mache, fiberglass, foam or similar materials. Explosives or chemicals such as smoke powder, sparklers, and fireworks are not allowed

Misuse of a prop weapon, such as by swinging it around in a public area and endangering fellow ‘con attendees is not allowed, and will result in the weapon being confiscated, or the owner possibly being ejected from the convention.

All props over a foot long and/or resembling a weapon will need to be taken to security so it can be checked. When a weapon is checked, it will be marked in some fashion. Attendees are required to show the mark to any staff member, if asked.

Any weapons purchased at the Setsucon dealer’s room must be boxed and removed from the convention space immediately after purchase.

Weapons purchased in the dealers room must be immeadiately removed from the convention proper and under no circumstance may they be opened while you are in the convention space. You may take them to your car, your room, or residence, but they may not be carried around with you during the convention. We are sorry for the inconvience this may cause, but this is a safety issue for everyone.

Setsucon is not liable for any injuries, should they occur.

Setsucon reserves the right to eject attendees who do not follow these policies. Setsucon is also not liable for any injuries sustained during the convention.

By submitting your registration form, you are agreeing to abide by our policies. If you have any questions about our convention or our policies, please e-mail them to support@setsucon.com. We hope you have a great time!
