Setsucon on cosplay.com?

Post by Taurosta_the_elf » Sat Jul 19, 2008 8:26 pm

Hi there! I was just browsing cosplay.com's forums and realized that Setsucon isn't listed as an anime convention in the U.S. They've got a ton of conventions listed, but no Setsucon :( I wanted to start one but I have no idea how, just because I think it would help promote Setsucon and get the word out to fellow cosplayers, plus Setsucon should totally be on there since it rocks. Does anyone have any idea how I would go about getting Setsucon listed? Here is a link to the page I am talking about:

I just thought it was a good idea so decided to bug the staffers with it :) Then again maybe you guys already thought of that and decided against it too. So it is worth me mentioning. Alright, hope everyone is having a nice summer! Thanks!

Problem is, Setsucon isn't big enough to warrant having its own forum on Cosplay.com (as awesome as that'd be); the conventions listed on the main index are far larger--in the thousands to tens of thousands of attendees--compared to our own ~500-deep gathering. There is a thread dedicated to Setsucon in the below link, but it died shortly after the 2008 convention.

Hopefully, someone'll revive it or create a new one in the months before the 2009 con.

Awww, too bad. So probably by next year it'll be big enough :D 10,000 attendees at Setsucon 09, no problem ;) Thanks for the info though, I was wondering why it wasn't listed. I'm sure the forum shall be revived, mawhaha. thanks again!

Hi, just thought I'd let you know that cosplay.com is allowing smaller cons to get added to the convetion calender. I already filled out the form for setsucon and put the website and forum addresses on there so people can get to the setsucon homepage easily :) Maybe it will help generate more interest. Plus, once it gets approved cosplay.com people can add the event to the events list. :) Right now the information needs to be processed but before you know it Setsucon will have it's own spot on the calender. Woot!

Thank you Katou for posting the original thread, it sure is getting a lot of hits!

I made this thread a little bit ago to hopefully put out all official information possible for cosplay.com members:
