Places to eat:
There's a subway and pizza place within walking distance, as well as a CVS and all sorts of other great eating places.

Bring:
As any con, bring extra clothes, cosplay repair supplies (if you're cosplaying), deodorant (important), a phone charger, a power strip if you've got lots of people in your room with phones, money, uh... I can't really think of anything else right now.

Sorry if I wasn't helpful.

our plan is to hit the Fuji & Jade Garden. (chinese and japanese resturant) It's really good and the prices are surprisingly good for the amount of food that you get.

Subway is half a block away, if that, and Gumby's Pizza is two doors down from Subway. Going in the other direction (and turning left) there's a Panera about three blocks away, and less than a block further is The Green Bowl, and all-you-can-eat stirfry place. I was part of a group of cosplayers who went there the Friday of the con last year, and I highly recommend it (don't worry, meat eaters, despite the name it has both vegetarian and non-vegetarian selections). Also, the Mad Mex restaurant attached to the Day's Inn is much better than any restaurant attached to a reasonably price hotel has any right to be  and they're open for breakfast.

As far as what to bring, might I also suggest a highlighter pen, so you can go through the schedule and plan out your itinerary.

You're bound to get strange looks. But it's fun anyways. Last Setsucon I went down to the subway with a giant screw sticking out of my head, I think they were a little creeped out, tbh.

Right, note to self: warn Subway to be prepared!

I would also put in a plug for Say Sushi, it's a cute little mom-and-pop type Japanese and Korean restaurant about a block from the convention. They do both eat-in and carry-out, and prices are pretty reasonable.

i don't think resturant staff are too weirded out... it is State College! LOL. I'm sure they've seen weirder things walk through their doors.

There are 2 specifically Korean restaurants in State College that I know of-- Seoul Garden and Kimchi. Seoul is on 129 Locust Lane
State College, PA 16801. Kimchi, however is on Atherton street, (1100 North Atherton Street
State College, PA 16803) so you'll have to catch a bus or drive most likely.

I'm pretty sure the owner of Say Sushi is Korean, but they also have sushi and Japanese food. I've only ever eaten their Korean food though, yummy!

Shall I tell everyone about our staff favorite, or should that be kept a secret? ;)
