Setsucon 2021 Moves to Online

Setsucon Community – the upcoming 2021 edition of our annual convention will be transitioning to an online-only event occurring April 10th-11th, 2021. As such, Setsucon 2021 will be presented at no-cost and will be open to all.

When we initially shifted our dates from January to April for this year only, we had hopes that we might be able to safely hold the convention at the later timeframe. However, given the current guidelines and state of the region, we have decided that it is within the best interests of everyone’s health and safety to transition to a completely online-only event.

All in-person activities have been postponed until our next in-person convention, Setsucon 2022, scheduled for January 28th-30th, 2022 at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona, Pennsylvania. We look forward to being able to welcome everyone back to Altoona soon.

In the meantime, we cannot wait to celebrate our 15th Setsucon this coming April – albeit virtually. More information regarding our online edition of the convention will be provided in the coming weeks on our website and social media.

Please visit our Online Switch FAQ page on our website for further information about our shift to online event for Setsucon 2021 and what that means for you.

This was a decision that we hoped we wouldn’t have to make. We are very thankful that we had the opportunity to see everyone at the beginning of 2020 and while we may be apart for a year, we still cherish all the memories and all the moments that we have spent with each and every member of our Setsucon family, both in-person and online. We look forward to celebrating anime and Japanese culture with everyone – and making plenty more memories – this April.
