The Road to Setsucon 2019 is making its last stop of the year at DerpyCon this weekend in Morristown, NJ! Join our Street Team at the Hyatt Regency Morristown from November 9th - 11th for New Jersey's Anime, Gaming, Sci-Fi, and Comic Convention. Registration for Hall Cosplay Contest and Masquerade are now open for Setsucon 2019! If you've made your own incredible costume, sign up for Hall Cosplay Contest and get feedback from a panel of veteran cosplayers. If you're interested in performing a skit, whether it be dancing or comedy, sign up for Masquerade; you can compete by yourself or as a group. Make sure to refer to the respective pages to look over the rules for each event and the updated cosplay policy. We look forward to seeing what you come up with!

We will be opening our online pre-registration on June 6th, with weekend pre-reg badges still only $25. For 2019, we have a few registration policy changes to note:

  • Parental Consent & Chaperone Forms are now only one form.
  • The new filled out Parental Consent form MUST be brought with you to the convention; we will no longer be accepting them ahead of time.
  • Mail-In Pre-Reg will be opening in the Fall.

Setsucon 2018 is excited to announce Charles Dunbar as a guest in this year's lineup. Charles is an anthropologist who studies all things related to anime and fandoms. He is also the founder of Study of Anime, which strives to educate and illuminate the subtleties of Japanese culture and anime for hungry fans.

Setsucon is moving to the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona, Pennsylvania, which is just two hours away from both Harrisburg and Pittsburgh! And with this move, we'll be eliminating the attendance cap! Join us January 27-28, 2018 to celebrate our 12th year!

Setsucon has arranged for a discounted room rate of $89/night (plus taxes) at Toftrees. When reserving a room, please be sure to call the hotel directly and mention that you are attending Setsucon and would like the group rate. Setsucon has reserved the entire hotel for its room block, so be sure to mention Setsucon or the hotel may say that they have no rooms available. Furthermore, Toftress will not be taking online reservations for this room block.
The Setsucon staff and I apologize for the early closure of the Saturday night dance, the Setsu Odori. Our staff received several complaints of venue damage and inappropriate behavior at the dance. For your safety, we made the difficult decision to end the dance early. Once again, we apologize and we hope that you enjoy the rest of your time at Setsucon.

Due to weather conditions and airport delays, there have been delays with some guests. In a effort to not cancel these guest panels, we have rearranged the schedule to accommodate their new travel plans.

Guest Panel Changes:
Though, Richard and Ellyn Stern Epcar are unable to make it out to Setsucon 2014 this year, they have decided to host a Q&A panel via Skype! The Q&A panel will be held at 8pm-9pm in Panels room 1!

Alexis Tipton Scary Story panel, feat. Leah Clark is now scheduled for 9:30pm to 10:30pm in Panels room 1!
